I took my very first yoga class as a young child in the 1980s. My great aunt taught yoga at her local community center and I joined her when I visited. My mother took me on my first yoga retreat when I finished high school. I spent five months living at Kripalu after my first year at Stanford Law School. Yoga has always been a part of my life.

It took me decades of on and off practice, myriad yoga retreats, and months spent living at yoga centers to finally finish my yoga teacher trainings while taking a sabbatical from my job as a lawyer for children.

Yoga as a mindfulness practice has gotten me through some of the most stressful and difficult times in my life. Over the years, yoga, especially gentle and restorative yoga, has helped me cope with grief, anxiety and just everyday stress of being a trial lawyer for children. I love being able to share this gift with others.

I provide classes for lawyers, law students and legal interns, members of the NYC Bar Association, for volunteers and staff at Best Friends Animal Society as well as for the general public. I created the City Bar's Yoga for Lawyers program.

I've been giving trainings on burnout and vicarious trauma to law students, interns, and attorneys focusing on public interest law and direct advocacy since 2010.

I am grateful to my teachers Colleen Saidman Yee and Rodney Yee for all they've taught me both on and off the mat.
